We operate a telephone triage model for GP consultations, and you will be advised whether to expect a call either in the morning or the afternoon. If after discussing your condition with you the GP feels that they need to see you in person, they will invite you into the surgery for a face to face appointment, if required or needed on the same day.
Please note that there is no urgent walk in service available.
Appointments with Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physio, Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Physician Associate will have a specific time advised at time of booking, as well as whether it is a face to face appointment or a phone consultation.

** Out-of-hours GP services are changing
We want to provide the right services at a time which is convenient for you. We’ve listened to feedback from people in our local area, and we are making changes to our out-of-hours appointments to deliver better services for you.
The new way of delivering out-of-hours appointments will give you:
- Access to more healthcare professionals. This new service will be delivered by professionals including GPs, Nurses and Health Care Assistants.
- More choice about the type of appointment you want. These include a mixture of in-person face-to-face appointments, and remote appointments like telephone, video, or online appointments.
- Make it more convenient for you to travel to out-of-hours appointments. These appointments are being planned and delivered locally, so it is likely they will available closer to your home.
From Saturday 1 October 2022, out-of-hours appointments will be available from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on weekdays, and from 9.00am to 5.00pm on Saturdays.
Out-of-hours appointments were previously planned by Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) on behalf of many GP practices in a bigger area. From Saturday 1 October 2022, this is now being planned and delivered locally by Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
We are working together with other GP practices in our local area as part of the Brentwood Primary Care Network. You can find out more about Brentwood Primary Care Network on our PCN website at www.brentwoodpcn.nhs.uk
If you are unable to attend an appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment that you have with either a GP or a member of the Nursing team please advise us as soon as you are able to ensure that we can re-prioritise that appointment to another patient as required, and to reschedule a new appointment with you.
You can cancel an appointment by calling 01277 212820 and pressing option 1 and then leaving your name, date of birth, time of your appointment and who the appointment is with.
Try the NHS App
You can now use the NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services and your GP account on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
If you already use online access you can continue to use it. You can use the NHS App as well.

Home Visits
Home visits are for those who are too ill or infirm to come to the surgery.
Unless it is an emergency you will probably be seen more quickly by making an appointment at the surgery. The doctor can see several patients in the surgery in the time that it takes to make one house call and usually he/she will have better equipment and facilities at the surgery to examine you and treat your problem.
Please note that lack of transport cannot be accepted as a reason for a home visit, nor does the Practice provide transport services.
Requests for home visits should be made before 11.00am to enable your doctor to plan the day. You will need to speak with a receptionist to book a home visit.
Please note that home visits are only available during core hours, and that at weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays any problems will be dealt with the Out of Hours Service.
