Basildon Hospital offers blood tests by pre-booked appointment only - there is no walk-in facility.

You will be asked to specify your blood test requirements (such as glucose tolerance test, INR/Warfarin), and will then be shown the dates and times available. On your first booking you will be asked to register, and will receive an automatic email confirmation of your appointment.

Additional information

Fasting patients
Patients who have been requested to have a fasting blood test should not eat or drink anything, other than plain water, for 10 hours before attending for their blood test unless advised otherwise by their clinician.

Specialised tests
Some specialised tests can only be undertaken at the main phlebotomy clinic at Basildon University Hospital. Your doctor should advise you of this, but if in doubt please contact Phlebotomy Reception at Basildon University Hospital for advice.
